An excellent home remedy to eliminate intestinal gases is to have a freshly prepared herbal tea, such as fennel, gentian tea, avocado leaves or cardomomo.

1. Fennel tea
A great home remedy for gases, without contraindications, is fennel tea because it has anti-spasmodic properties and is very effective against colic caused by small gastrointestinal spasms, especially flatulence.
Ingredients
- 1 teaspoon of fennel, 1 cup boiling water
Method of preparation
Add the fennel to the cup of boiling water and let it sit for 10 minutes. Drink several times a day, with no added sugar because sugar favors the formation of gases.
2. Gentian tea
Gentian is an excellent home remedy against intestinal and stomach gases. Gentian is a medicinal plant used for many years to combat digestive problems, its effectiveness is scientifically proven due to its regulating action on peristaltic movements and its stimulation in the production of gastric juice.
Ingredients
1g of dried gentian roots
200 ml of water.
Method of preparation
The tea is made through the infusion, where the water must first be boiled and only then the gentian leaves must be added. The tea should be infused for 10 minutes, as this is the time needed to obtain an effective dose of active substances. The next step is to strain and drink a cup of gentian tea several times a day, preferably before meals.
3. Avocado leaf tea
An excellent home-made solution against gases is avocado leaf tea. Tea with avocado leaves is a diuretic and soothes the gastrointestinal system. In addition to eliminating gases, it helps in the treatment of bronchitis, diarrhea and elimination of kidney stones.

- 1 tablespoon of dried avocado leaves
Method of preparation
Avocado leaves should be boiled for 5 minutes. The solution should be placed in a container and capped so that it rests for 10 minutes. To reduce the gas, a cup of tea should be drunk every hour.
4. Cardomomo tea
A good home remedy against gases is Cardomomo tea because it relieves symptoms such as malaise, fatigue and swelling in the abdomen.
Ingredients
- 2 g of cardomomo seeds ( Elletaria cardamomum L. ) 1 cup of boiling water
Method of preparation
Place the cardomomo in the boiling water and let it stand for 10 minutes, strain and drink after meals. Care should be taken when administering the doses of tea, as high doses can cause vomiting.
5. Herbal tea
Another excellent natural remedy for gases is herbal tea, made with basil, anise, fennel and mint, as these medicinal plants have antispasmodic properties that help to fight gases.
Ingredients
- 10 g of basil1 star anise10 g of fennel10 g of fresh mint1 liter of water
Method of preparation
Bring the water to a boil and, when it starts to boil, add the herbal mixture, boiling for another 5 minutes. Remove from heat, let rest covered and take during the day for at least 3 days.
6. Coriander tincture
The tincture made with coriander is also a great and efficient home remedy to avoid gases.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of dried coriander seeds1 cup (tea) 60% cereal alcohol
Method of preparation
Add the coriander seeds to the cup with alcohol and soak for 5 days. This process is called maceration, and allows the greatest amount of nutrients and flavor to be extracted from coriander seeds.
After the determined time, the mixture should be strained and with a drop counter, add 20 drops of this home remedy in a glass of water (200 ml) and take it once a day.
7. Exercise to eliminate gases
A great exercise to help eliminate intestinal gas is to compress the abdominal region as shown in the image below, because this helps in eliminating the gas, relieving discomfort.
