Plantain is a medicinal plant from the Plantaginacea family, also known as Tansagem or Transagem, widely used to make home remedies to treat colds, flu and inflammation of the throat, uterus and intestine.
The scientific name of the herb Tanchagem is Plantago major and can be purchased at health food stores, some drugstores, as well as at some street markets. The main most important and most beneficial assets are iridoids, mucilages and flavonoids.
