Pen-ve-oral is a medication derived from penicillin in tablet form that contains potassium phenoxymethylpenicillin, which can be used as an alternative to using Penicillin injection, known to cause a lot of pain. However, even Benzetacil injections no longer need to cause so much pain because they can be diluted with an anesthetic called Xylocaine, when allowed by the doctor.
Indications
Pen-ve-oral is an oral penicillin that can be used for mild to moderate respiratory bacterial infections such as tonsillitis, scarlet fever and erysipelas, mild or moderate bacterial pneumonia caused by pneumococci; mild skin infections caused by staphylococci; as a way of preventing bacterial endocarditis in people with heart disease, rheumatic disease, before dental surgery or on the face.
How to use
Oral penicillin has the best effect when taken on an empty stomach, but if it causes stomach irritation, it can be taken with meals.

Side effects
Pen-ve-oral can commonly cause headache, oral or genital candidiasis, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. It can also decrease the effectiveness of the contraceptive pill and so it is advisable to use another form of protection against unwanted pregnancies during treatment.
Contraindications
Pen-ve-oral should not be used in case of allergy to penicillin or cephalosporin. It can interfere with the effect of other remedies such as those used for ulcers and gastritis, bupropion, chloroquine, exenatide, methotrexate, mycophenolate mofetil, probenecid, tetracyclines and tramadol.
