Peptulan is a remedy indicated for the treatment of gastric and duodenal peptic ulcer, reflux esophagitis, gastritis and duodenitis, since it acts against the bacterium Helicobacter pylori , which is one of the main causative agents of peptic ulcer and contributes to the formation of a peptic ulcer protective layer on the stomach.

How to use

Peptulan should be taken according to medical advice, but it is generally recommended to take 4 tablets a day for at least 28 consecutive days. A new treatment cycle can be started after an 8-week break, but no more than 4 tablets should be taken daily.

Peptulan can be administered in 2 ways:

  • 2 tablets, 30 minutes before breakfast and 2 tablets, 30 minutes before dinner or 1 tablet 30 minutes before breakfast, another before lunch, another before dinner and the last 2 hours after dinner.

The tablets should be taken whole with water. It is not recommended to have carbonated drinks, antacids or milk 30 minutes before or after taking this medicine, but it can be combined with other antibiotics and antifungals without any problem.

Possible side effects

It is normal for stools to get darker with the use of this medication, which is a natural and expected effect.

Other symptoms that may appear are dizziness, headache, psychotic disorders, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea of ​​moderate intensity. When the drug is used for prolonged periods that include more than 2 treatment cycles, the teeth or tongue may darken.

Contraindications

This medicine should not be used in case of allergy to any component present in the formula and in case of severe renal failure.
