Tobradex is a drug that has Tobramycin and Dexamethasone as its active ingredient.
This anti-inflammatory medication is used in an ophthalmic way and works by eliminating bacteria that cause eye infections and inflammation.

Indications for Tobradex
Blepharitis; conjunctivitis; keratitis; inflammation of the eyeball; corneal trauma from burning or foreign body penetration; uveitis.
Side Effects of Tobradex
Side Effects due to absorption of the drug by the body:
Softening of the cornea; increased intraocular pressure; thinning of the corneal thickness; increased likelihood of corneal infections; cataract; pupil dilation.
Side effects due to prolonged use of the drug:
Corneal inflammation; swelling; infection; eye irritation; pricking sensation; tearing; burning sensation.
Contraindications for Tobradex
Pregnancy risk C; individuals with corneal inflammation due to herpes simplex; eye diseases caused by fungi; allergy to drug components; children under 2 years.
How to Use Tobradex
Ophthalmic Use
Adults
- Eye drops: Drop one or two drops in the eyes every 4 to 6 hours. During the initial 24 and 48 h the dose of Tobradex may be increased to one or two drops every 12 hours. Ointment: Apply approximately 1.5 cm of Tobradex to the eyes 3 to 4 times a day.
