Didanosine is the active substance in an antiretroviral drug known commercially as Videx.
It is a medication for oral use and is indicated for advanced HIV infection, since its action consists of incorporating it into the DNA of HIV, preventing this viral chain from multiplying and further aggravating the infection.

Advanced HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection in patients who cannot tolerate or respond to zidovudine (AZT).

Oral use
On an empty stomach (1 hour before or 2 hours after a meal), along with 1 glass of water. Do not take the product with fruit juice or acidic drinks.
Adults
- 75 kg of body weight or more: 300 mg every 12 hours (tablets). 50 to 74 kg body weight: 200 mg every 12 hours (tablets). 35 to 49 kg of body weight: 125 mg every 12 hours (tablets).
