Dark green citrus fruit and leafy vegetable juices are excellent for curing iron deficiency anemia because they are rich in iron and vitamin C, which helps to absorb iron better. When consuming any of these juices, symptoms of anemia, such as dizziness, weakness and pallor, tend to disappear. However, treatment for anemia can also be done with medications, such as ferrous sulfate, in the case of iron deficiency anemia, for example.
These juices can be ingested daily but should not be the only form of treatment, and daily consumption of iron-rich foods such as liver steak, beef and egg yolk is also important. If the symptoms of anemia persist even after adequate nutrition, it is important that the doctor is consulted to investigate the type of anemia and with the most specific treatment.
Some juices that can be taken to combat anemia symptoms are:
1. Pineapple and Parsley
Pineapple and parsley juice is great for anemia, as it is rich in iron and vitamin C, which is essential for iron absorption, relieving and fighting anemia symptoms.
Preparation: Beat in a blender 3 slices of pineapple, 1/2 cup of parsley and 1/2 glass of water. Then drink it as soon as it is ready to prevent vitamin C from being oxidized and the juice from losing its properties.
2. Orange and Spinach
Orange juice and spinach is a great source of vitamin A and B vitamins, making it a great option to treat anemia.
Preparation: Beat in the blender 1 cup of orange juice and 1/2 cup of spinach leaves and drink afterwards.
3. Orange, watercress and strawberry
This juice is rich in vitamins and minerals and helps to strengthen the immune system and improve disposition, fighting the symptoms of anemia.
Preparation: Beat in a blender 1 cup of watercress, 1 glass of orange juice and 6 strawberries and drink soon after.
4. Lemon, cabbage and broccoli
This juice is great for fighting anemia, as broccoli is rich in vitamin B5, helping to fight the symptoms of anemia, and cabbage is rich in iron and chlorophyll, helping to increase the level of oxygen and the amount of circulating red blood cells.
Preparation: Beat in a blender juice of 2 lemons, 2 kale leaves and 1 broccoli branch and drink later.
5. Pineapple, carrots and spinach
The pineapple, carrot and spinach juice help to increase the amount of iron in the blood and, thus, increase the hemoglobin and the amount of oxygen circulating in the blood, being very effective in combating and preventing anemia.
Preparation: Beat in a blender 7 spinach leaves, 3 carrots, 1/4 pineapple and 1 glass of water and drink right after ready so that the juice does not lose its properties.
6. Orange, apricot and lemon grass
Apricot is a fruit rich in iron and when consumed together with orange and lemon grass it helps in the treatment of anemia.
Preparation: Beat in a blender 6 apricots, 1 orange and 1 stalk of lemon grass and consume soon after.
7. Passion fruit and parsley
Passion fruit and parsley juice is great for reducing the symptoms of anemia, mainly because the parsley is rich in iron and folic acid, being very effective in the treatment against anemia.
Preparation: Beat 1 large passion fruit, 1 glass of water and 2 tablespoons of parsley in the blender and then drink.
8. Orange, carrot and beet
This juice is rich in iron and is great for treating anemia.
Preparation: Beat 6 oranges, 1 beet and 1 carrot in a blender and drink immediately.
9. Acerola and cabbage
Acerola and kale juice is rich in vitamin A, B vitamins, calcium and iron, making it great for treating anemia and fighting symptoms.
Preparation: Beat 10 acerolas, 1 kale leaf and 1/2 glass of water in the blender and then drink.
