Tecentriq is a chemotherapy drug indicated for the treatment of urothelial carcinoma, which is a type of bladder cancer, especially in advanced cases or with metastasis, without improvement with the use of other types of treatment.
The active principle of this remedy is Atezolizumab, a new drug of the monoclonal antibody type, which acts directly on the immune system to stimulate the body to fight cancer. This drug is not yet produced in Brazil, although ANVISA allows its import from the United States in specific cases and with justified medical indication.

How to use
Atezolizumab is a medicine that should be used through intravenous infusions according to the medical indication, usually 1200mg diluted in saline solution, for 60 minutes, in doses every 3 weeks.
The number of doses and the duration of treatment should be indicated by the oncologist, according to the clinical picture of each patient.
Possible side effects
The most common side effects of Atezolizumab include tiredness, reduced appetite, urinary tract infection, fever, nausea and constipation.
It is important to report to the doctor in case of the appearance of new or severe symptoms, as it is possible that this medication causes severe immune reactions, such as pneumonitis, nephritis, hepatitis or colitis.
Who should not use
There are no formal contraindications reported, however, it is important that the doctor does special monitoring and use with caution in cases of immune reactions such as hepatitis, pneumonitis, colitis, diabetes, pancreatitis or infections, for example, considering suspension temporary in these cases.
