Dermoscopy is a non-invasive diagnostic method, which is used to analyze the skin in cases of melanoma, seborrheic keratosis, hemangiomas or dermatofibromas, for example, when the physical examination is not enough to draw conclusions about the diagnosis, or when they are not visible to the naked eye.
The device used is a dermatoscope, which shines light on the skin and has a lens that allows you to observe the skin in more detail, since it has a magnifying power of about 10 to 40 times the actual size.

How it works
Dermoscopy is a non-invasive examination performed by a doctor, using a device that emits a light, allowing the visualization of the internal structures of the skin, such as epidermis, dermoepidermal junction and dermis, without causing pain or trauma. The device is placed directly on the lesion, so that it can be observed in detail.
There are devices that can be connected to digital cameras or computers, which allows images to be collected and stored during the exam, and then evaluated by a dermatologist.
