This medicine can be sold in two dosages, 100 or 300 mg, and the price can vary between 50 and 200 reais, depending also on the quantity of pills in the packaging. There is no generic version of this medicine.

Invokana is indicated to control blood sugar levels in patients with type 2 diabetes and over 18 years of age.

In some cases, canagliflozin can still be used to lose weight faster, however it is necessary a medical prescription and guidance from a nutritionist to make a balanced diet.

How to use

The starting dose is usually 100 mg once a day, however, after kidney function tests the dose can be increased to 300 mg, if it is necessary to tighten blood sugar levels.

Possible side effects

The most common side effects of using canagliflozin include marked reduction in blood sugar levels, dehydration, dizziness, low blood pressure, constipation, increased thirst, nausea, skin hives, more frequent urinary infections, candidiasis and changes of the hematocrit in the blood test.

Who should not use

This remedy is contraindicated for pregnant women and women breastfeeding, as well as people with type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis or with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula.
