Carmustine

Carmustine is the active substance in an antineoplastic medication known commercially as Becenum.

This injectable drug is indicated for the treatment of individuals with cancer, its action consists of altering the DNA of cancer cells interfering with their functioning.

Colon cancer; brain cancer; stomach cancer; Hodgkin's disease; hepatoma; lymphoma; melanoma; multiple myeloma.

Injectable Use

Adults and children

• Administer 150 to 200 mg per square meter of body surface as a single dose every 6 to 8 days, or 75 to 100 mg per square meter of body surface per day, for 2 consecutive days every 6 weeks, or 40 mg per meter square of body surface per day, for 5 consecutive days every 6 weeks. The dose should be adjusted according to the number of leukocytes and platelets of the patient.
