USP's diet is a low-calorie diet that reduces carbohydrate intake, such as rice, pasta, bread or toast.

In the USP diet to lose weight, you can eat eggs, ham, steak, fruits, coffee and vegetables, such as lettuce, cucumber, celery, green beans, carrots and tomatoes. However, alcoholic beverages, sweets, fried foods and sugar are prohibited in this diet.

This diet has a specific menu of one week and it is not allowed to change the food, nor the meals that are on the menu. After completing this week, you can start again, but the diet should not be done for more than 2 weeks.

USP diet menu

The USP diet menu has all meals allowed in the diet that is made for 7 days.

Day 1

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee. Lunch: 2 hard-boiled eggs and herbs you like. Dinner: lettuce, cucumber and celery salad.

Day 2

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee with cream-crackers. Lunch: 1 large steak with fruit salad that you like. Dinner: ham.

Day 3

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee with cream-crackers. Lunch: 2 boiled eggs, green beans and 2 toasts. Dinner: ham and salad.

Day 4

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee with biscuit. Lunch: 1 boiled egg, 1 carrot and Minas cheese. Dinner: fruit salad and natural yogurt.

Day 5

  • Breakfast: raw carrots with lemon and sugar-free black coffee. Lunch: grilled chicken. Dinner: 2 boiled eggs with carrots.

6th

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee with biscuit. Lunch: fish fillet with tomato. Dinner: 2 boiled eggs with carrot.

Day 7

  • Breakfast: sugar-free black coffee with lemon. Lunch: grilled steak and fruits you like. Dinner: eat whatever you want, less sweet and alcoholic drinks.

Despite the name, experts from the University of São Paulo (USP) guarantee that they are not the creators of the diet. According to nutritionists, the USP diet is monotonous, unbalanced and does not lead to the re-education of eating habits.
