The Ravenna diet is part of the weight loss method of psychotherapist Dr. Máximo Ravenna, which in addition to the diet includes dietary supplements, daily weight loss goals and regular physical activity, with weekly treatment sessions.
In addition, this method helps to reduce binge eating by facilitating the control of the mind and establishing a healthy relationship with food and not a relationship of dependency, being able to eat everything but in a controlled way.
How the Ravenna Diet Works
For the Ravenna diet to work it is necessary:
- Eliminate foods like white rice, bread or pasta made with refined flours because they increase the uncontrolled desire to eat and replace these foods with whole foods; Eat 4 meals a day: breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner; Always start the main meals, like lunch and dinner, with a vegetable broth and eat a fruit for dessert; Include at lunch and dinner a source of protein such as meat, egg or fish, as well as salad and a small amount of rice or wholemeal pasta.
As the quantities allowed in this diet are very small, it is necessary that the nutritionist or health professional who makes the diet, add food supplements to ensure that nutritional deficiencies do not appear or that the patient is ill.
